Rodrigo: It’s been a good two days so far

Forward discusses winter training.

Spanish international Rodrigo is with his Leeds United teammates in his home country this week, on a training camp.

The Whites are working hard away from home before they return to Premier League action on December 28th, against Manchester City.

Speaking whilst away on the trip, Rodrigo shared his views on the time the squad have spent together so far.

He said: “This season is a bit different, because we have the break in the middle of the season.

“For sure, for us now in this moment, it’s an excellent and good moment to keep working. We will try to solve some problems we had during the first period of the season.

“So it’s a good moment to be here and spend some time with the team, staff and everyone else here. It’s been a very good two days so far.

“I think it’s an important moment to be together, spend time together, because it’s true that if we were in England everyone would be at the training ground then to their own houses.

“So it’s good to be here and make the team stronger, to prepare for the second part of the season.”

The forward has been in good form this season for Jesse Marsch’s side, scoring nine goals in 13 Premier League matches up to this point, so the Spaniard also gave his views on his performances.

“I think I just need to keep working hard,” Rodrigo explained.

“Of course I am really happy because I am in a good moment of form, but this is about the team, winning games and as I said before, we have to solve some problems too.

“It doesn’t matter if you have individual performances if the team performance isn’t good enough. The only thing that really matters is winning games.

“So that’s why we try to work hard every day, so I want to keep working and try to help the team as much as possible.

“We will face probably the best team in the world in our first game when we’re back!”
