Pascal Struijk: We have to try and keep this going

Defender on West Ham United win.

Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk spoke exclusively to LUTV following Sunday’s victory over West Ham United.

The Whites centre-back returned from injury to start against the Hammers and turned in a great display to help Marcelo Bielsa’s side earn all three points.

Struijk gave his summary on the game, explained what it was like to battle with West Ham striker Michail Antonio throughout and his delight for team-mate Jack Harrison who hit a hat-trick.

“I’m very pleased with the performance against a good side,” said Struijk.

“It was my first game back for six weeks and I’m happy with my own performance and as a team.

“We were ahead and they came back twice, but we still managed to get the third goal, we almost didn’t see it out, but we did and came away with the three points.

“I always like to play against the physical strikers rather than the small quick ones.

“I really enjoyed it, it was a good fight and I’m obviously very happy with how it went.

“I’m really happy for Jack, he’s done really well, he’s improved over the last couple of games getting his old form back, it’s really good and I’m really pleased for him.

“Overall it was a very good performance from us and we have to try and keep this going.”
