Brian McDermott's verdict on Tuesday's defeat...

United manager Brian McDermott was disappointed after seeing his side edged out by a single goal at Brighton on Tuesday.

A Leonardo Ulloa strike in the second half settled matters in a game of few chances at the Amex Stadium.

“There was nothing in the game,” said the boss. “It wasn’t a good goal to concede, but I thought the game had 0-0 written all over it.

“We didn’t have enough controlled possession after they scored. It was a tactical game and they managed to nick it. We didn’t create enough chances, but neither did they really.

“If you get a win at Yeovil and a draw at Brighton you’ll take it, but we didn’t. There was nothing in the game, we’ve had a couple of wins and a draw and we move on to our next game at Middlesbrough.

“We were solid on Tuesday. It’s just that bit more with the ball now. We take a lot of positives from the last three or four games, we just have to be a bit better with the ball.”
