Leeds United have seven players in action at the Euro 2020 tournament this summer. We take a look at how all of them got on during their second round of group fixtures. 

Tyler Roberts - Turkey 0-2 Wales

Wales played the second match of their Group A fixtures against Turkey, once again the match was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The ‘home’ crowd of nearly 30,000 who had travelled just over the border to support Turkey, couldn’t impose themselves on the game in the way they wanted to do so. Tyler Roberts was an unused substitute in the match, but he watched on and offered his support from the touchline has his side ran out 2-0 winners, courtesy of goals from Aaron Ramsey and Connor Roberts.

Gjanni Alioski - Ukraine 2-1 North Macedonia 

Gjanni made history once again by scoring in the match, only the second ever player to achieve that for his country at a major tournament. He also became the first Leeds United player to score at a competitive international tournament since 2002. Despite Alioski’s left footed strike - which came courtesy of a rebound from the penalty spot - his side couldn’t complete the turnaround and win the match having already been two goals behind to a dangerous looking Ukraine squad.

Kalvin Phillips & Liam Cooper - England 0-0 Scotland

Mixed fortunes for our United players in this match, as their national sides went up against one another. Phillips started the match for England and played the full 90 minutes, whereas Cooper was an unused substitute for Steve Clarke’s outfit. The game was a tactical battle and neither team could unlock one another at Wembley, meaning they finished with a point apiece, both heading into the final round of fixtures with the possibility to progress.

Mateusz Klich & Diego Llorente - Spain 1-1 Poland

In another match-up between two Whites players, an excellent and hard-fought point in Group E was secured for Klich and his teammates. It came courtesy of a second half Robert Lewandowski header after Spain had gone into the lead through Alvaro Morata, but the Polish forward levelled with a well placed finish. Spain had a chance to retake the lead but missed their opportunity from the penalty spot. Klich had a solid game for his country, but was replaced in the second half whilst on a yellow card. Llorente was an unused substitute for Luis Enrique’s side. Group E remains exceptionally tight and will all come down to the last round of fixtures to determine the final positions.

Robin Koch - Portugal 2-4 Germany

One of the most entertaining matches of the tournament so far, which saw two of the international big hitters come up against one another in the tough looking Group F. Robin Koch was an unused sub in the match, but will have been delighted with how his team performed. They went behind early to a Cristiano Ronaldo goal, before coming back in style and hitting the next four goals of the game to race into a big lead. Portugal pulled one back, but the German side hung on to their points. The closely contested group will also go to the final round of fixtures to determine its final places, with all to play for.
