Marcelo Bielsa: We go for the win in every match

Head coach on Barnsley.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Thursday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Barnsley.

The Whites return to Elland Road for the penultimate home game of the season, looking for a fourth win in a row.

Bielsa spoke about the mental state of his side following Sunday’s victory over Swansea City and what he is expecting from Barnsley, who need to win as they bid to avoid relegation.

“The happiness after you win a match with a goal in the last minute is very visible for everybody,” said Bielsa.

“But this happiness lasted just a few hours, before everything is normal again.

“At the moment the feeling we have is the same we have had so far.

“We just go for the win in every match and we are not thinking about the consequences if we win the match.

“Sometimes teams, when they are forced to win, they don’t use the tactic to go for the match.

“Sometimes they want to win the match, but they prefer to force the mistake of the opponent.

“They can use both options, but coming out and trying to win the game is the logical one.

“I cannot say what is going to happen on Thursday, though.”

Bielsa also revealed Kalvin Phillips will be unavailable for the game, with Ben White likely to fill in his position.
