Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Sunday’s Sky Bet Championship opener with Bristol City.

The Whites head to Ashton Gate, having lost just once in the last seven visits to the South West.

Bielsa spoke about his squad and what he is expecting from the division for the forthcoming campaign.

“I have a lot of confidence with the squad that I have at the moment,” said Bielsa.

“We have three players for each position, even though there are not 33 players, we have 18 players that are good enough to play in three positions differently. 

“Last season Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton became involved and now they are more close to being part of the team. 

“I hope and I am sure, at the end of the season there will be two players more, to assume the same role that Jamie and Jack now have.

“Luke Ayling, Tyler Roberts, Kemar Roofe are the three players we will be missing on Sunday, Jamie Shackleton is ready.

"The Championship is a league which is very honest, it is very competitive as everybody has the same chance. 

“Winning matches is very difficult, losing one game is very probable and if a player isn’t 100 per cent you can tell.”
