Liam McCarron: I’m delighted to sign for such a big club

Winger on joining Leeds.

New Leeds United signing Liam McCarron spoke exclusively to www.leedsunited.com after completing a transfer from Carlisle United earlier this week.

The 18-year-old highly rated winger joined the club for an undisclosed fee, having made 20 appearances for the Brunton Park outfit last season.

McCarron, who will initially link up with Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side was thrilled to complete a move to Elland Road, penning a three year deal.

“I’m delighted to sign for such a big club at this stage in my career, it’s an important move for me and I’m looking to push on now,” said McCarron.

“I first heard of the interest a few months ago, but I just kept my head down, kept doing what I was doing at Carlisle and I didn’t let it distract me.

“As a young player, it was a really good experience for me to get a lot of game time under my belt last season.

“I’m quick and direct, I like to get at people one versus one, put balls into the box and to score goals.

“It’s my ambition now to try and break into the first team here and try to make some appearances.”
