International: March 2019 call-ups
Whites stars to feature on international stage.
A number of Leeds United players have been selected for international duty, with games set to take place over the coming days...
Stuart Dallas and Bailey Peacock-Farrell have been called up for Northern Ireland by Michael O’Neill. The Green and White Army begin their Euro 2020 qualification campaign in Group C with two home games at Windsor Park against Estonia on Thursday 21st March (7:45pm GMT) and Belarus on Sunday 24th March (7:45pm GMT)
Tyler Roberts has linked up with Ryan Giggs’ Wales side. They take on Trinidad & Tobago in a friendly on Wednesday 20th March at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham (7:45pm GMT), before their Euro 2020 qualification series gets underway in Group E when they take on Slovakia at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday 24th March (2:00pm GMT).
Macedonia have called on the services of Ezgjan Alioski for their two Euro 2020 qualification matches in Group G. They have a home game against Latvia on Thursday 21st March at the Philip II Arena (7:45pm GMT), before an away trip on Sunday 24th March against Slovenia at SRC Stozice (7:45pm GMT).
Mateusz Klich has been named in the Poland squad, who like Alioski’s Macedonia are also in Euro 2020 qualification Group G. On Thursday 21st March they have an away trip to Austria, which takes place at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion (7:45pm GMT), before a home match with Latvia on Sunday 24th March at the National Stadium, Warsaw (7:45pm GMT).
There have also been call-ups at Under-21 level. Aapo Halme has linked up with Finland for matches against Norway and Bulgaria. Alfie McCalmont joins Northern Ireland for games against Bulgaria and Mexico, whilst Niall Huggins heads for a training camp with Wales.
On loan duo, Tom Pearce and Jay-Roy Grot have also been called up by England Under-20s and Netherlands Under-20s respectively.
Pontus Jansson was selected in the Sweden squad, but will now remain with Leeds after picking up a knee injury in Saturday’s clash with Sheffield United.
