Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw spoke exclusively to LUTV after returning to Thorp Arch for pre-season training.

The Whites have been back on the training pitches for the first time since May this week and have been put through their paces.

Forshaw believes this period is crucial if the team want to do well and be successful during the 2018/19 campaign.

“A lot of people dread pre-season, the running is tough, but you have to get it done,” said Forshaw.

“It is a base and foundation to help you kick on through the season and really push to what you want to achieve.

“We are paid to keep fit, do well and win games, so if we are physically ready and we have done all of our gym work, running and conditioning, it is only going to help us in the long run.

“It has been tough, especially with the weather, but we have to do it, get some wear into our legs and get used the gruelling Championship.

Forshaw also spoke about the arrival of United’s new head coach Marcelo Bielsa, which he believes can only be a positive thing for the club.

He said: “I can’t wait to play under him, with someone of that calibre and expericnce, I think us as players should be a sponge to him, take all of the information on board and really commit to what he wants to teach us, because I’m sure it will pay off and work for us.

“If you can’t get excited about an appointment like that, I don’t know when you will because his CV speaks for itself with what he has done and it is really exciting times for the club."

2018/19 adult season tickets are available from £349, which equates to £15.18 per match, whilst junior season tickets are available from £72, which equates to £3.14 per match.
