BLACKBURN: EVANS HOPEFUL FOR TRIO

Steve Evans provides team news ahead of Ewood Park trip...

Steve Evans hopes to have Chris Wood back in the travelling squad for Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers, while defensive duo Liam Cooper and Lewie Coyle will be assessed ahead of the game.

Wood has been sidelined since the end of January with a hamstring problem sustained in the 1-1 draw away to Brentford, but United’s joint-top goalscorer this season has returned to full training in recent weeks and could make his comeback at Ewood Park.

Coyle and Cooper, meanwhile, both missed the midweek victory at Cardiff City after being forced off during last weekend’s win over Bolton with ankle and hamstring injuries respectively.

“We’re hoping to have one or two lads back,” said Evans. “We’ll look today at Chris Wood – everyone in Leeds is waiting to see if he will be with us on Saturday and I think he will be.

“We’ll then look at Coyley and Coops and we’ll make some decisions.

"We’ve also got one or two knocks that are carrying on from the win at Cardiff. We’ll keep those in-house and we’ll try and get them ready for selection at Blackburn.

“We got back from Cardiff, as our supporters did, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“The players have since had a day to recover and we’re back in for training today.”
