Leeds United trio join Summer Soccer Camp

Foundation host players at recent session.

Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Harriett Jakemen made a special guest appearance at a Leeds United Foundation Summer Soccer Camp recently with lots of excitable youngsters in attendance.

The successful summer camps are being delivered throughout the current school holidays across a number of different locations and there are thousands of children taking part in the various camps across the six-week period.

The Leeds United trio were all eager to get involved at the session being hosted by coaches from the club's official charity at the Grammar School at Leeds. During the appearance they were all on hand to spend time with the various age groups, answering questions and offering advice, before stopping for photos and autographs.

Gelhardt spoke to LUTV during the visit and said: “We've loved coming down and getting involved today. I used to love this sort of thing when I was younger, and it really takes you back there, it's all about having fun and playing with a smile on your face at this age.

"Hopefully we were also able to help put smiles on their faces today!"

Harriett Jakeman, who is a summer signing for Leeds United Women, added: "It was really great as well to see how many girls were taking part, there was even a session for females only so to see that was really encouraging and there was some great talent on show too."

The summer sessions have been taking place four days of the week throughout the entire break, with hundreds of kids coming along each and every week. The next set of camps will take place in the October school holidays, for those who would like to book on.
