Leeds United will be showing their support for the annual #NCSMatchday campaign during our Premier League fixture with Newcastle United this weekend.

The #NCSMatchday campaign takes place once a season to raise awareness around the initiative that is delivered through the Leeds United Foundation.

During NCS Summer 2021, more than 350 young people from the local community engaged with the programme, delivering 26 social action projects in total that supported 13 different charities, with many young lives changed for the better.

The club’s official charity are now looking for participants for Summer 2022, with those aged 15-17 encouraged to apply. The programme is designed specifically to support young people as they build a more precise idea of what they want to do with their future, whilst also giving them the opportunity to take on new activities and make new friends.

NCS is an engaging programme that unites and empowers young people, helping them to build confidence and achieve their dreams, no matter their background.

The Summer programme involves a week of action-packed activities with fresh new challenges that will help you make lifelong memories. This will include water sports, abseiling, Jacob’s ladder, high ropes, archery and doing the leap of faith! The young people will also get a taste of independence during the residential trip by learning new skills such as how to plan, prepare, and cook healthy food.

The second week of the programme is centred around social action projects, giving the youngsters the chance to make a difference in the local community. The participants are able to take ownership of their projects, pursuing something they are passionate about and giving them a platform to get their voice heard.
