Academy midfielder Charlie Allen made his debut for York City on Tuesday night, as the Minstermen were held to a 1-1 draw against Oldham at the LNER Stadium.

Allen played a full 90 minutes after joining York City on a short-term loan earlier in the week, with manager Neal Ardley and fans impressed by his first showing.

In his post match interview, Ardley said "He did great, I thought he would tire but he didn't, he looked like he was still going strong towards the end.

"Tactically, he got a lot that I worked on yesterday with him really well, he did his job for the team without the ball and probably we didn't give him enough moments to show what he was capable of.

"In the first 20-25 minutes, we got him a lot of the ball and he went on a couple of runs, blisteringly quick and hopefully we can utilise that.

"I've got to look at him, he's a young lad out of the U21s, so I'll pick and choose the right games, use him wisely, but he's certainly a good asset to have around the place.

Ardley also discussed the attributes that attracted York to Allen, saying: "Mainly his pace and directness. He can get at people, good in 1v1s, take people on and has scored a few goals recently for Leeds' U21s.

"I came and watched them play Chelsea [U21s] here a couple of months back, Chelsea were very strong but there was one player who caused them numerous problems, and that was Charlie.

"I went away, sent the boys the teamsheet and said "keep an eye on this lad, he was really really good". When we've been talking about wingers, maybe bringing something in a bit different, he was in the back of my mind and we thought he'd be a good asset."

Jeremiah Mullen started his fourth game for Inverness on Saturday, playing 51 minutes of their 3-3 draw with Partick Thistle. The defender had previously played in Caley Thistle's Scottish Cup Fifth Round tie against Hibernian, as well as starts against Raith Rovers and Queen's Park.

Apart from being unable to play against Leeds recently, Darko Gyabi has been ever present for Plymouth since signing on loan in January, helping the promoted side to two wins and two draws in their last six games. The defensive midfielder's most recent appearance came in the Pilgrim's 3-0 defeat to West Brom on Tuesday night.

Lewis Bate is also enjoying his time out on loan, the midfielder has featured in every League Two game for the MK Dons, since making his debut in January against Morecambe. Bate has played eight times for Mike Williamson's side over the last month, their four wins and one draw has seen The Dons move into the play-off places, sitting fifth and hosting Newport County on Saturday.
