U21s Preview: Leeds United v West Bromwich Albion

Monday night Premier League 2 action.

Leeds United Under-21s are in Premier League 2 Division 2 action on Monday evening, taking on West Bromwich Albion Under-21s in another well-contested match.

The fixture will be played at the City of York Council’s LNER Community Stadium and will get underway at 7pm. Fans are able to attend the match, with ticket information at the bottom of the page.

The Whites come into the game looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season, away at Nottingham Forest Under-21s last time out. The hosts got a late winner at Meadow Lane to inflict a first loss of the campaign for Michael Skubala’s side.

With Southampton having played more matches, Leeds have been knocked off top-spot [on goals scored] for the first time since the season began, but can reclaim the lead with a point or more from Monday’s match.

The Baggies also have games in hand and will be looking to move back up the table. They have only played nine games up to now, meaning they’ve dropped to fifth in the standings, after not playing a competitive match since November 7th.

WBA’s last game was also a defeat to Nottingham Forest, with a heavy 5-1 scoreline going against them. A win on Monday would see movement back up the table into fourth, with further games in hand on others around them to get higher.

The top two scorers in the division will go head to head in this one. Mateo Joseph - who has impressed throughout the campaign - could come up against the equally as impressive Reyes Cleary. Both players have netted 11 times up to now!
