Simon Wood: Every point is important

Boss speaks after draw.

Simon Wood vs Doncaster

Leeds United Women were forced to settle for a point away at Doncaster Rovers Belles in midweek FA WNL Division One North action on Wednesday.

Drew Greene's second half header was cancelled out by a quickfire response from the hosts, and the Whites were unable to find another breakthrough despite piling on the pressure.

After the game, Simon Wood spoke to LUTV. He said: "It's another point on the board. It's come on an evening to a team that's become very resilient since the change of managers and I think you can see that with them.

"We've gone a goal up from a worked set play that looked really good, and then we've give away a free kick and they go and score straight away so we weren't resilient enough in ourselves.

"It's frustrating but fair play to Doncaster."

On the importance of winning against York City Ladies next time out in the league: "Every point we gain now is important to what our missions are at the end of the season.

"It's a point gained tonight in the aspect of that, and we've got to make sure that when we play York we've got the right mindset, we go do the things we do, and we have a more positive outcome at the end of it."
