Leeds United are delighted to announce that Elland Road has become host to the 2000th Changing Places toilet in the UK.

This is a real landmark for the organisation since their launch in 2008, as they continue to grow and develop each and every year, registering a record high of 162 new Changing Places toilets last year.

Changing Places toilets are especially important as they have more space than standard toilets, whilst also including essential equipment such as a ceiling hoist, peninsular toilet and an adult-sized changing bench, making them as accessible as possible for a much wider range of people.

The club is working hard to try and make small changes to the stadium to make it as inclusive as possible, to ensure trips to Elland Road are as easy as possible for all of our supporters. The installation of the Changing Places toilet will help to increase accessibility at the ground, which will hopefully impact fans with a range of disabilities in a positive way.

Morrie Eisenberg, Chief Operating Officer at Leeds United, said: “We are delighted that the 2000th registered Changing Places toilet has been installed at Elland Road, as we continue to try and make the stadium as inclusive and accessible as possible. The feedback from supporters has been brilliant and it was a real team effort to make this happen, so a huge thank you to everyone involved.”

Martin Hywood, an avid Leeds United supporter who was diagnosed with Limb-Girdle muscular dystrophy in 1997 and now uses an electric wheelchair, added: “I’m a huge fan of Leeds United and visit the stadium several times a year, so I was thrilled to hear the announcement. It will make a massive difference to me and other people – a Changing Places toilet is a lifeline for so many people.”
