Despite each already having two world titles to their names, Leeds-born brothers George and Harry Hemingway will realise another childhood dream, when they take part in a Red Bull trials motorcycle activation, ahead of the Whites' Premier League clash with Chelsea on Wednesday night.
Both George – who has twice won the Trial3 World Championship - and his brother Harry - who added the 2025 Trial2 gold medal to his previous Trial3 world crown - are lifelong Leeds United fans and can’t wait to pull on the famous white shirt to perform in front of the Leeds fans.
From 6.30pm, outside the East Stand at Elland Road, the brothers will be joined by their legendary uncle and long-serving Red Bull athlete Dougie Lampkin MBE, who has amassed twelve world titles during his decorated career.
The brothers will then be back in proper action in Leeds to kick off their 2026 season, with the first indoor world competition of the year taking place at the First Direct Bank Arena on Saturday 24 January.
The event will see the world series return to Britain for the first time in a decade, and both Hemingway brothers are excited to be getting their new campaigns underway on home turf.
“I’m feeling really good about X-Trial Leeds and while I’m obviously a bit nervous, I know it’s such a great opportunity for me,” says George. “It will be my first-ever appearance in the FIM X-Trial World Championship, so it’s incredible to be making my debut in my home city in front of my home fans.”
Harry is equally excited about competing on his own doorstep. “When all your friends and family come out to support you, you really want to put on a show for them and it couldn’t get any more local – it’s literally fifteen minutes from my house,” he says. “I grew up in Leeds and I drive past the arena all the time, so to be competing there is unreal. We used to joke about it when we drove past – ‘imagine if there was a trial in there one day’ – but we never thought it would happen.”
