Leeds United are pleased to announce they are supporting the Wings for Life World Run with a special kit change during their Premier League fixture against Brentford on Saturday 21st March (8pm kick-off).
As part of the initiative, the Wings for Life World Run logo will appear on the Leeds United home shirts for the match. After the game, supporters can bid to win one of the unique match worn shirts, with 100% of proceeds going to fund spinal cord injury research. Fans who sign up to the Wings for Life World Run will also be entered into a prize draw to win a signed shirt from the 2025/26 squad, with hospitality tickets for Leeds vs Wolves also up for grabs.
The club is supporting the event for the second year in a row as Wings for Life World Run hosts a series of runs across the UK to raise money for spinal cord injury research.
Speaking on the importance of the event, Ethan Ampadu, the Leeds United captain, said: "It is a massive thing to raise awareness around spinal cord injuries, and also to hopefully help a lot of people. How everyone can get involved, and how everyone can join in at the same time as well, no matter what you have going on... it gives everyone the chance to be able to do it together.”
Encouraging supporters to get involved, Ampadu added: "I think if we all could, we would. So, I think if you have the opportunity to be involved in something like this, it’s a very special thing to be a part of."

That’s It!
Wings for Life World Run is a unique global race that sees thousands of people start at exactly the same time worldwide. There is no traditional finish line. Instead, 30 minutes after the start, the Virtual Catcher Car sets off and steadily increases its pace. When it catches you, your race is complete. Whether you run, jog or roll in a wheelchair, you set your pace and every kilometre contributes to funding life-changing research.
Launched in 2014, Wings for Life World Run is the world’s largest running event, uniting participants across the globe in one shared moment. The virtual Catcher Car format means runners can take part wherever they are in the world and can run as far or as little as they want within the 30 minutes, whilst organised App Run events also allow participants to come together and run as part of a community.
What makes the event truly unique is its impact: 100% of every entry fee goes directly to spinal cord injury research. Wings for Life has funded hundreds of research projects and clinical trials worldwide since 2004, helping drive forward treatments that are improving outcomes for people living with spinal cord injury and bringing science closer to a cure.
In 2025 alone, a record €8.6 million was raised, contributing to a total of €60.53 million generated since the event began. Across all editions to date, 1,870,253 participants from 191 nationalities have taken part on all seven continents.
According to World Health Organization data, around 250,000 people sustain a spinal cord injury every year, with millions more living with its long-term effects. By taking part in the event, participants will not only experience an unforgettable race day atmosphere but also contribute directly to life-changing research.
