Leeds United quartet Karl Darlow, Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon and Daniel James have all been named in the Wales squad for their crucial March international fixtures.
Craig Bellamy’s side begin their FIFA World Cup qualifying play-off campaign with a semi-final clash against Bosnia & Herzegovina at the Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday, 26th March (7:45pm KO).
Should Wales progress, they will return to the Welsh capital five days later to face either Italy or Northern Ireland in the play-off final on Tuesday, 31st March (7:45pm KO), with a place at this summer’s World Cup on the line.
Wales are aiming to qualify for back-to-back World Cup tournaments for the first time in their history, having previously appeared at the finals in 1958 and 2022.
Leeds quartet included
Goalkeeper Karl Darlow has established himself as Wales’ number one since making his international debut in a 2-1 win over Macedonia in September 2024. The Leeds United stopper has since earned 12 caps for his country.
Club captain Ethan Ampadu continues to be a key figure for Wales and currently has 59 international appearances. His most recent outing saw him lead the side as captain in their 1-0 victory over Liechtenstein.
Defender Joe Rodon has featured 58 times for Wales and was part of the side that defeated North Macedonia 7-1 in November. During the qualifying campaign, the centre-back also found the net against Liechtenstein and Belgium.
Winger Daniel James returned from injury at the beginning of February and has made four appearances for Leeds United since his comeback. The forward will now look to add to his 61 caps and nine international goals, having scored in the convincing win over North Macedonia last time out.
