Leeds United would like to remind all supporters who attend matches to be respectful of our own fans, opposition supporters, all players, officials and members of staff.
The club will continue to do everything it can to put a stop to discrimination, offensive language and any other dangerous behaviour during the 2024/25 campaign, as we believe real fans do not feel the need to act in this manner.
There are a series of measures currently in place, including policies, procedures and regulations, with the aim of improving behaviour for all those involved with the game and to ensure the actions of the minority do not spoil the game for the majority.
To challenge abusive language and gestures, including tragedy chanting, along with unacceptable behaviour such as throwing missiles, pyrotechnics or entering the pitch, supporters will face stadium bans and potential criminal prosecution.
We are united against all forms of discrimination, including racism, homophobia, sexism, antisemitism and any other religious hate.
We also remind fans around the Football Offences Act (1991) that clearly states that it is an offence for a person at a designated football match to throw anything at or towards:
(a) the playing area, or any area adjacent to the playing area to which spectators are not generally admitted, or
(b) any area in which spectators or other persons are or may be present,
without lawful authority or lawful excuse (which shall be for him to prove).
Football is for EVERYONE and anyone who is displaying any of the actions spoken about are not welcome, and we will continue to work hard to eradicate these behaviours from the game we all love and put an end to the physical and mental abuse people suffer.
