Leeds United Women were last-gasp victors in the FA WNL Division One North on Sunday after going a goal down. Amy Woodruff's brace and Kath Smith's spot-kick securing all three points in stoppage time away at Blackburn Rovers Women.
Speaking to LUTV after the game, Whites' boss Simon Wood said: "Massive three points for us because we knew that Blackburn had improved in terms of their last few results.
"I think second half, it really showed what experience we've got in the group, and we've got players coming off the bench and they're influencing it but yeah, a pleasing three points.
"We had to wait until that last part of the game to get the win, but it's three points at a stage where we really needed that big three points today.
"We had a couple of big moments that have won us that game of football," Wood added. "Just really, really please with the group."
On the run-in to the end of the season and next week's midweek clash against Doncaster Rovers Belles: "Every game is a cup final. We go again on Wednesday night against Doncaster, it becomes another cup final.
"Our players know that and we have so much experience in this group and so many people that when you see them on a pitch, they're fighting for each other.
"When it comes into the start of next week, we'll reset, we'll do our work, we'll do our prep on Tuesday and we will go into the game against Doncaster with no illusions - it's hard work and graft that is hopefully going to get us a result."
