Leeds United Women will compete for the FAWNL Plate on Sunday, heading to The ARMCO Arena in the West Midlands.
The Whites will come up against Stourbridge who are flying high in their league, know the game will be a tough test.
Ahead of the match, manager Rick Passmoor chatted with LUTV and gave his thoughts on seeing his side contest a national final this weekend.
“It’s fantastic,” the manager explained.
“When you look at our togetherness over the last eight months, it’s great to have made such positive steps in the right direction as a team and as a club.
“We’re all looking to ensure that we represent the club professionally, to come away with the trophy on Sunday.
“It has been a long time since 2010 when we last won a national trophy at this club. We’re building, it’s small steps but they are in the right direction now.
“We’re moving forward and we can see the progress. We did really well in the FA Cup as well and now we’re in the FAWNL Plate final.
“We’ve got to make sure we are focused and that the players enjoy the occasion, but, it’s the business end now.
“We need to ensure the hard work comes to fruition with a good result on Sunday.”
The manager has been able to watch Sunday’s opponents ahead of the final and he knows they will prove to be a really tough test, having shown that in their league form this year.
Passmoor said: “They’re a good side.
“We’ve beaten Solihull from their league in a tough match, and they are three to four places below Stourbridge.
“We know they are top of their league and they are absolutely flying, only dropping points in a couple of games.
“They will be coming into this with a lot of confidence. We know they will be hard to beat, they are strong going forward and they’ll compete for 90 minutes.
“It will be a tough battle but our players will be ready for that. I am sure if we bring our A-game and play our best, we can go there and win it, that’s the aim and the challenge ahead of us.”
