With Leeds United Women preparing well and training hard for Sunday’s FAWNL Plate Final, Amy Woodruff gave her thoughts ahead of the game.

The striker will call upon her experiences of big games that have already come this season, whilst also saying how much the fans mean to the team.

The Whites have progressed this far by overcoming tough challenges against teams in higher leagues along the way.

Woodruff is now looking forward to kick-off against Stourbridge at The ARMCO Arena on Sunday.

“I can’t wait to get out there,” she stated.

“It’s a great opportunity for us, to be in a final. We want to prove we can win it.

“We’ve beaten some good teams in higher leagues than us to get this far, so we need to use that experience now out there on Sunday.

“It’s a cup final and we really want to get this win in front of the fans. We’ve got loads of coaches going down and it helps us, it’s massive.

“As a club, we get a lot of support and we are close with our fans. I think on Sunday that will really show and help us to push on.”

The forward went on to say how training has been good this week, with a tactical plan in place, as they look to come home with the silverware.

Woodruff said: “We’ve had some tough challenges over the season but as a team we’ve worked hard and prepared the right way for those games.

“That’s exactly what we have done this week and we will use our past experiences to help us.

"We’ve learned a lot about managing games and the work rate needed in big matches, so we will need to use that on Sunday for the full 90 minutes.

“Rick [Passmoor] has developed training this week around Sunday’s match. We all know our roles as individuals and what we need to do as a team to achieve the result.”
