Last time out
The Whites were very impressive on the road as they ran out 1-3 winners over Doncaster Belles on Sunday. Paige Williams netted a brace, doubling her tally from the whole of last season, with Kath Smith also on target with a bullet header.
Previous meetings
York and Leeds met three times last season. The Minsterbelles came out on top in the FAWNL Cup determining round, a defeat that placed Leeds into the FAWNL Plate which they would go on to win.
The first league meeting between the two ended 1-1, with Abbie Brown cancelling out Jessica Holder’s opener on what was a historic night for York City Ladies, as they made their debut at the LNER Community Stadium in front of 2,280 supporters.
In the reverse fixture, Leeds ran out 2-0 winners. Brown was once again on target, opening the scoring after just eight minutes at the So-Trak Stadium, before Jess Rousseau made it 2-0 on the hour mark. Leeds would have had more that evening if it wasn’t for an outstanding performance between the sticks from Minsterbelles stopper Rebecca Sidwell.
