Leeds United Women are on the road for the first time this season as they head to Moor Park to face Chester-le-Street Town Ladies on Sunday.
The clash marks the second of the Whites' FA WNL Division One North campaign after an emphatic opening day win over Thornaby Women in which Simon Wood's side won 7-0.
Ahead of the clash in the North East, midfielder Alice Hughes said: "Excited. Hopefully we can start to create some momentum and build on the first game of the season. There are still a lot of areas for improvement so we’ll work hard this week as always to put us in the best position to step it up again on Sunday.
"It was nice to get a few goals as that always gives confidence, and like I say hopefully we build on that and can start to create some momentum to take into the season. I think the important thing was that the way we are wanting to play came out in moments on Sunday and we’ll look to continue that in the coming weeks.
"I think everyone’s said it, there are no easy games in this league and especially this season with the strength of teams. A defeat will always bring some extra motivation in the next game so we’ll be prepared for that, but we take each opponent as they come, we’ll do our research and prepare accordingly so we in the best position possible on Sunday."
In the most recent meeting between the two sides, Hughes bagged to help the Whites to a 3-2 win. Commenting on the goalscoring side of her game, she added: "It’s always great to get on the scoresheet, but in my view how we perform as a team is more important, a clean sheet as well also brings a lot of confidence and satisfaction. We won’t underestimate any team and we will have to give everything each week to keep getting results.
"I think we’ve added some good depth to our squad and we’re in a position where there’s competition for starting places which is pushing everyone to raise their performance. The players we’ve brought in bring a lot of experience and composure and have had an instant impact both on and off the pitch."
