Preview: Leeds United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Whites back in Premier League action.

Elland Road Seats

Leeds United host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon as Daniel Farke’s side continue their bid for Premier League survival.

Following a historic win on Monday night over rivals Manchester United, the Whites are looking to record successive league wins and extend their unbeaten run.

At Old Trafford, a Noah Okafor double in the first half sent the travelling contingent into raptures and, despite a Casemiro header after the break, Farke’s men saw the game out for a first victory at Old Trafford since 1981.

Prior to Monday night’s victory, United progressed to the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals where they will face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium following a penalty shootout triumph over West Ham United, with Lucas Perri the hero in the capital!

Last time out at home, Leeds were forced to settle for a point against Brentford at Elland Road despite enjoying large spells of possession in the final fixture before the international break.

In the reverse fixture between the two sides, first goals in white for Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin came either side of Anton Stach’s stunning freekick to secure three points away at Molineux.

The visitors are coming into the clash off the back of a 4-0 away defeat to West Ham, where braces from both Konstantinos Mavropanos and Taty Catellanos saw Rob Edwards’ side leave the London Stadium empty handed.

Since Edwards took over from Vítor Pereira in November following a tough run of form, Wolves have seen an improvement in performances including recent wins over Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Over the decades, the Whites have faced Saturday’s opponents a total of 105 times, winning 46 of those matches and drawing on 23 occasions.

Action from Elland Road gets underway from 3pm and you can follow it across leedsunited.com, as well as on LUTV.

Speaking exclusively to Premier League Productions, Karl Darlow said: “It is the quality of performance more than anything that I hope we can take on into the next game and make sure we maintain the performance levels that we did.

“They have got great quality which we know we have to be respectful of. We know that they are going to fight. They are obviously a good side that we know we need to be concentrated on and make sure that we take care of business.”

Celebrating Holbeck Together:

Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers marks Leeds United’s dedicated Holbeck Together matchday. The local charity is dedicated to supporting people across the Holbeck community in the shadow of Elland Road.

Holbeck is one of the most deprived areas in the city and in the UK, where harsh conditions contribute to a life expectancy 12 years lower than the rest of Leeds. Facing those challenges, Holbeck Together provides vital support and opportunities for those who are struggling.

No Room For Racism:

Leeds United, along with the Premier League and all other clubs, will reiterate their commitment to tackling discrimination and highlight the importance of diversity in football this weekend, with all fixtures between 18th to 20th April dedicated to No Room For Racism (NRFR).

At Leeds United, we are devoted to fostering inclusivity for all, and for this round of fixtures, the league are focusing on the severity of racism and the consequences that are in place for offenders. The Premier League and all clubs are appalled that players continue to face discriminatory abuse, and we will continue to do everything in our power to stop it, wherever it happens.

White Ribbon:

Leeds United are proud to be supporting White Ribbon once more, the leading charity in England and Wales engaging men and boys to prevent men's violence against women and girls.

We will be hosting a matchday stall on Saturday against Wolverhampton Wanderers outside the Pavillion. Members of the supporters' advisory board, White Ribbon Ambassadors and White Ribbon Champions from the Club and Leeds United Foundation will be handing out White Ribbon merchandise and speaking to supporters about the Club's initiatives and collaboration with White Ribbon.
