Leeds United take on Crystal Palace at Elland Road on Tuesday evening, in a Premier League match being shown live on Amazon Prime (8.15pm).
The Whites go into the game on the back of a point and clean sheet away at Brighton on Saturday evening, whilst Palace will be looking to bounce back from a home defeat to Aston Villa.
Both teams beat each other last season home turf in the Premier League, with Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford scoring the goals at Elland Road in a 2-0 win for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. That victory made it five home wins on the bounce against Palace for Leeds.
Palace come into the game showing their goalscoring ability this season. They are currently on a run of eight successive matches finding the back of the net and in Christian Benteke, they have a striker who likes midweek clashes, as he has 12 goals to his name on Tuesday night fixtures.
Staying on the midweek stats, Leeds have enjoyed a night under the lights of late, too. Since promotion back to the top flight, the Whites won five out of six matches during the week, four of which have been on Tuesday’s.
The head to head record between the two sides overall is in Leeds’ favour down the years, but the league encounters last season were the first two meetings since 2013.
Both teams will be looking to improve their respective home and away records on Tuesday evening. Leeds have just the one home victory this campaign, whilst Palace have just the one away from home.
If Leeds can get that second win on home turf, they could move as high as 14th, whereas Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace are aiming high, with a win having the potential to take them into 7th spot.
