Daniel Farke: We travel very respectful

Boss previews visit to East Sussex.

Farke pre Brighton with Hurzeler

Leeds United hit the road again in the Premier League on Saturday, taking to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion as the Whites seek to extend their impressive unbeaten start to the 2026/27 campaign.

Ahead of Leeds United's visit to the South East, Daniel Farke has spoken to the media, firstly addressing the two deadline day additions in Melvin Bard and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya.

"He has placed many, many games in Ligue 1," the boss started on Bard. "Also like that left-back or left wing-back cover that we needed. Of course, it's early doors because he's had just more or less two training sessions together with us, but very experienced player but also a good age."

On Jean-Mattéo, he added: "Obviously a young prospect anyhow, recently played in Germany. Very great character, very quick player, so lots of potential. He can take players on, but of course, he's very, very young in age so he's different in comparison to Melvin.

"I'm pleased that both of them are with us."

The boss then turned his attention to Saturday's opposition, saying: "Many new players, yes that's right, but the DNA is still there. The same manager and the same style of play. I think they are quite similar [to last season].

"Of course, players always influence a game, and players with different skills come in and change the game a little bit. But overall, I see the same handwriting.

"I think they've played a really good second half of last season, qualified for Europe, impressive start to the season, so the whole pre-season was impressive.

"Overall they are in really good shape. Fabian [Hürzeler] has done a fantastic job there and we travel also very respectful.

"We have to be at our best in order to be competitive."
