Prior to Leeds United’s trip to the Amex to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, manager Daniel Farke spoke to the media at Thorp Arch.
The boss started with some unfortunate news on Wales international Joe Rodon, who limped off against Brentford last time out and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
“Yes bad news,” he began. “Joe has a hamstring injury. He will be out for, at the moment, an assessment of eight to 10 weeks so he will definitely not play before the next international break.
“Also, probably not the first games after the international break. Of course, a big blow for us because he is a key player for us.
“But it is football and sometimes you have to deal also with injuries. He will definitely miss, yeah, the next eight to 10 weeks, probably.”
“I think this was and put even more pressure on us to bring also a wing-back option in, with Melvin Bard, because it could right now also be that we need James Justin a bit more in the central defence, where he has played as well.
“Of course, it is important that Joe comes back as quick as possible. I think the first international break is a bit longer, it won’t help the Welsh team, but will help us a bit like in that he doesn’t miss too many games.”
