Whites begin their pre-season schedule.

Leeds United start their pre-season fixtures this week with a trip to Harrogate Town on Friday evening.

The match is the first test ahead of the new season for the Whites, with Daniel Farke’s side then travelling to Germany before hosting La Liga side Valencia CF at Elland Road in August.

Backed by a sold out away allocation, supporters may get a first glimpse of new signing Joe Rothwell in action, after the midfielder joined the club on a season-long loan deal from AFC Bournemouth.

The clash will be the second friendly for Simon Weaver’s Sulphurites ahead of their upcoming Sky Bet League 2 campaign, after narrowly falling to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town last weekend.

Despite debutant Stephen Duke-McKenna opening the scoring for the hosts inside two minutes, League One outfit Huddersfield would fight back to earn the victory, with the deciding goal coming shortly after the break.

Leeds and Harrogate have met previously, with Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe amongst the goals as the Whites ran out 4-2 winners in a 2017 friendly at Thorp Arch.

Action from the Exercise Stadium gets underway at 7.30pm.
