Spanish Under-21 international Mateo Joseph is targeting a big season with the Whites, after impressing a number of times under Daniel Farke last campaign.
The forward was notably on song in the club’s Emirates FA Cup tie away at Stamford Bridge, netting a brace against Chelsea before grabbing a maiden Sky Bet Championship goal against Watford during the run in.
With a first pre-season test against Harrogate Town just around the corner, Joseph is excited to show his manager and the Leeds supporters he is ready to step up.
“I am feeling really good,” explained the striker. “I am feeling strong and sharp and I can’t wait for the season to start to be honest.
“Training has been a lot of fitness work and some tactical, but obviously not too much because it is the first weeks.
“We are looking at some details of how we can improve our game and try to be perfect in every aspect. We can not rest until that happens.
“To be honest I feel ready and I feel up to the challenge. I am really looking forward to it because I have prepared myself.
“Last season was a learning season for me, I think. I got some highlight moments and some other moments that weren’t that good.
“Everything has given me the things I need in order to achieve the objectives – my individual objectives and the objectives of the team.
“I have really been working hard during the whole season and during the summer. I have been working hard for my whole life and now I feel ready to step up and be ready for the challenge.
“I think it is the thing I want the most right now in my life, to be successful in this team. Everyone is hungry to do well this season.”
