Leeds United face table-topping Leicester City on Friday night in the Sky Bet Championship, in an 8pm kick-off under the lights of Elland Road.

Heading into the match, the two teams sit side by side in the table, occupying the top two positions with 13 games remaining of the campaign.

Whites forward Joel Piroe is looking forward to facing the Foxes, and feels the team is full of confidence after winning eight matches in a row in the league.

“The feeling is very positive,” Piroe told LUTV.

“We’re enjoying every minute of it and we look forward to each and every game.

“There is confidence in the group with everyone together, we have grown a lot since the start of the season.

“You can see it in our latest results. Every game there is three points [to play for] and that is the biggest task we have for every game.

“We have lots of confidence and we know the fans are behind us. There is always a great atmosphere at Elland Road.”

Piroe has scored 11 times for the Whites this season, as well as chipping in with assists for his teammates, too.

After recently having to make an impact from the bench, the forward is enjoying seeing his teammates find the net just as much as when he does so himself.

He said: “It’s perfect, because everyone is playing their part.

“It’s not that we’re depending on one or two players only, we’re all chipping in with goals and assists.

"That’s the most important thing for a team who wants to compete and win, you cannot depend on one person each time.

"We’re competitive and we all want to play every minute if it is possible, but we all have one mutual goal.”

Now looking ahead to Friday’s game against Leicester, the Dutchman reflected on the win at the King Power Stadium in November, whilst also giving his thoughts on this one.

“I think that’s one of our best performances, so we just have to do it again,” Piroe reflected, looking back to the first meeting.

“If we work harder than the opposition and show more quality with the ball and without the ball, we can beat every team.

“The previous game showed we had a good plan and we stuck to it in everything we did. We have also learned from what went wrong, too.

"We know what they will try to do and it’s another game where it starts 0-0 so we have to make sure we try and win it.”
