Tarik Muharemović has been voted Leeds United’s Hero of the Month for August by supporters.
The award, sponsored by club partner Employment Hero, saw the summer signing receive 41% of the overall vote after making an impressive start to life at Elland Road, featuring in every minute of Leeds’ three matches during the month.
Muharemović, 23, played the full 90 minutes as Daniel Farke’s side defeated Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the City Ground on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, before helping the Whites record another victory at the same venue in the League Cup.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international then completed another 90 minutes as Leeds drew 1-1 with Brentford at Elland Road.
Across those three appearances, the defender made 207 touches and completed 139 passes, while also registering 32 defensive contributions, including 18 clearances, five tackles, four interceptions and nine recoveries.
Muharemović also won 17 duels during August, underlining his impact at the heart of the Leeds defence.
His performances have been recognised by Fantasy Premier League managers too, with the defender collecting 10 points across Leeds’ opening two league fixtures.
The award is another recognition of the immediate impact made by Muharemović, who joined Leeds from Serie A side Sassuolo during the summer transfer window.
James Trafford finished second in the supporters’ vote with 31%, while Ao Tanaka received 9% and Joe Rodon 4%.
