Jesse Marsch has spoken with the media ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Arsenal.
The Gunners arrive in West Yorkshire as the inform team in the league and currently sit top of the table with eight wins from their first nine matches.
The head coach began with an update on the availability of his first team squad for the weekend.
He said: “Leo Hjelde has recovered well from his appendectomy and was on the pitch today, but won’t be available for probably another week or so.
“Adam Forshaw’s surgery went well, he’s feeling better.
“Archie Gray was on the pitch today and is feeling better, but won’t be available. Stuart Dallas is making good progress as well.
“Everyone else is healthy, including Junior Firpo.”
The Whites are playing their ninth game of the campaign this weekend and March was asked to give his thoughts on the season so far.
“I think that for the most part we’ve played quite well through the runs of our matches. I feel like we’ve been in the match and we know how competitive all games are.
“We haven’t - other than Brentford - given up many goals. We’ve been more stable and much better defensively.
“Our biggest room for improvement is goals scored. When we’re on top and in the opponents half, it’s turning advantages in chances and chances into shots and shots into goals.”
Marsch knows his side will have to be at their best when they go head to head with Mikel Arteta’s side and he feels on home turf, the Whites can be a match for anyone.
“Mikel Arteta has done an absolutely amazing job,” the head coach explained.
“With a young team, he’s built this up to be really complex, stable and I think exciting to watch. I think he’s done an amazing job.
“Obviously for us it can be a big boost to have a big result against an opponent like this. We are confident, at Elland Road we can play the way we want, we believe Arsenal are very good and we have to be very calculated with what our match plan is.
“We want to be aggressive at the right moments and we still want to try and play our football, to challenge them in certain ways.
“We know we have to be at our best to have a chance against such an opponent.”
