The final 20 shortlist for the 2022 Golden Boy award has been revealed, with Leeds United forward Willy Gnonto joining the very best of U21 talent from across Europe.
One of two shortlisted players plying their trade in the Premier League, fans have been voting to whittle down the initial batch of 100 nominees over the last few months.
One more fans vote remains, alongside a decision by a jury of 40 journalists, to decide this year's winner, ahead of the 20th Golden Boy ceremony on the 7th November in Turin, Italy.
Should he win the award, Gnonto will be in fine company, alongside last year's winner Pedri of Barcelona, as well as previous recipients including Erling Haaland (2020), Kylian Mbappe (2017), Cesc Fabregas (2006) and Lionel Messi (2005).
A summer signing from FC Zurich, where he had made 12 appearances this season, Gnonto scored for Leeds' U21s in the recent PL2 clash against Sunderland, whilst also being named on the bench for the past two Premier League games.
