Since joining Leeds United in the summer transfer window, Gabi Gudmundsson has played in all 12 Premier League so far in his first campaign with the club.
The full-back has regularly impressed for the Whites, but in what has been a tough recent period for the team, he wants to keep improving and get back to winning ways.
“I'm very pleased to be here. I had a very good start and a little bit now in a difficult period, but I'm sure that we're going to figure out how to come through it,” the Swedish international exclusively told Premier League Productions, ahead of facing Manchester City away from home this weekend.
“As a footballer, you always have highs and lows and sometimes that's football. We know that.
“Especially like a promoted team, you're going to have sometimes difficulties during the season. But I'm sure that we are going to come through it as a good group and sure we're going to take more points.”
Our upcoming opponents have had a tough week themselves, by their own high standards. Defeat away at Newcastle United was followed by a loss on home turf to Bayer Leverkusen in midweek, meaning both teams will be eager to return to winning ways.
“It doesn't matter if they really lost or won,” Gudmundsson explained, prior to travelling to the Etihad.
“We know there's a lot of quality in that team. When they play at home, they're very strong as well. So, you know, we want to come there with a hunger from last game when we lost against Villa to make sure we can get something out of it.
“They play so many games and they have a lot of quality in the squad. And we’re playing in the Etihad, which I think they are very strong in, but we're going to go there with a hunger from last game to come and to get something out of it.”
