Preview: Leeds United Women vs Stockport County Ladies

Whites return to league action.

Garforth Town

Leeds United Women are back in action at Garforth this Sunday, facing Stockport County Ladies in the FA Women’s National League Division One North.

The Whites return to league action following back-to-back cup ties, the most recent, a 3-1 win in a West Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield Town Women in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

Simon Wood’s side secured the bragging rights in that clash, thanks to goals from Sian Gibrill-Keating, Izzy Elliott and Drew Greene, progressing to the third round where they will host West Bromwich Albion Women.

Last time out for Stockport was a 4-1 loss against Derby County Women in the FA Cup, and their last league showing was a 1-0 defeat to league-leaders Cheadle Town.

United currently sit fourth in the table, five points off top-spot with a game in hand, whereas our visitors are sixth, on fifteen points.

Action from the Bannister Prentice Stadium gets underway at 2pm.

Ahead of the clash, Whites winger, and goalscorer last time out, Drew Greene said: "Coming off the back of a good win is always good, and spirits have been really high this week.

"We know that each week is a new challenge and we must refocus and concentrate on the next game, which is a big game against a good Stockport side."
