Leeds United Women are back in FA Women’s National League Division One North action on Sunday, welcoming Stockport County Ladies to Garforth.
Last time out, the Whites won the bragging rights in the West Yorkshire derby as they defeated Huddersfield Town Women 3-1 thanks to goals from Sian Gibrill-Keating, Izzy Elliott and Drew Greene.
Ahead of the Stockport clash, goalscorer against the Terriers Drew Greene said: "Coming off the back of a good win is always good, and spirits have been really high this week. We know that each week is a new challenge and we must refocus and concentrate on the next game, which is a big game against a good Stockport side.
“We keep saying how much we want to win every game as much as possible and keep building on each performance, which I think we've done well so far. We always look back on the things that we can work on and improve each week and we're always ready for the next one.
“Sunday was a really good result for us in tough conditions and every player that came on contributed and we said that after the game. It's not just about the starting XI, it's about the squad and I think that proved on Sunday.
"It's always a tough game against Stockport,” the winger added on Sunday’s opposition. “They're a very well-organised side with quality and they also look to attack in numbers. We've looked at the strengths, and we've had a good week of training to prepare and hopefully another good performance and results to match will get us the win."
Commenting on the opportunity to climb the table with teams at the top playing each other, Greene added: “It's extremely important and we've spoken about that. We're well aware of how difficult it is in this league and that there are no easy games no matter where the team is in the league, but of course when it's so tight at the top it's crucial for us to take all three points at every opportunity.”
