Leeds United Academy goalkeeper Darryl Ombang is aiming to build on a very productive campaign last term, which saw him impress with the Under-21s and also enjoy two loan spells away from the club.
Signing fresh terms to remain at Thorp Arch for the upcoming season, the shot stopper is thankful for those who have played their part in his journey to this stage.
“I am delighted to get the deal done. Now I can really push on and that is my aim for this season to continue to develop more.
“My family has been so supportive. Football always has a lot of ups and downs. Throughout all of that has been my support system there to give me advice and help me out with anything I need to. That has been massive throughout my career.
“I feel like the most important thing is enjoying my football, you know, going out there and having fun. The more fun you have, the more relaxed you are and the better you perform.
“I think I have shown that in my performances and even getting men’s experience going out on loans. Those things have kind of helped me as well in terms of my development.
“Game management is something that I have kind of tried to bring into my game because the football is so different compared to men’s football.
“Especially being one of the oldest in the group, I try and take that ownership and leadership to implement it. I think I have shown that throughout the season.
“We have got a really good training group. Every day, we are always pushing each other and being competitive. We want to be the best.”
