Four Leeds United Academy players gained valuable senior experience during the opening weeks of the 2026/27 season.

Harry Gray has featured in all three of Sheffield Wednesday’s matches since joining the League One side on loan.

The 17-year-old made his Owls debut in a 1-0 Carabao Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers, playing 79 minutes as Wednesday secured their place in the second round.

Gray has since started both of the club’s league fixtures, helping them defeat Leyton Orient 2-1 before featuring in a 1-0 loss to Bradford City.

Wednesday sit 12th in League One and host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).

Charlie Crew has also made three appearances after joining League Two side Walsall.

The Wales international came off the bench for his debut in a 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Bristol City, playing the final 27 minutes.

Crew then featured for an hour as the Saddlers beat Gillingham 3-0, before helping them earn a goalless draw against Grimsby Town.

Walsall are third in League Two and travel to face Leyton Orient in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).

Elsewhere, Reuben Lopata-White has made two appearances for Altrincham since completing his loan move on 14 August.

The 20-year-old played 82 minutes against Sutton United before featuring for the closing stages of the National League fixture with Boston United.

Altrincham currently sit 23rd in the table and welcome FC Halifax Town to Moss Lane on Friday, 28 August (7:45pm).

Goalkeeper George Kenyon, meanwhile, was drafted into Pickering Town on a short-term loan following a head injury suffered by Luke Jackson.

The 18-year-old went straight into the starting XI on Friday evening and helped Pickering secure a 3-1 victory over Golcar United in the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division.
