Leeds United full-back Isaac Schmidt has today joined Swiss side BSC Young Boys in a permanent transfer, for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old moved to the Whites in August 2024 from St. Gallen and made 14 appearances in all competitions during the club’s Sky Bet Championship title winning season.

After finding first team opportunities limited at Elland Road, making just two starts, Schmidt spent last season on loan at German Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen, where he featured 19 times.

He now departs West Yorkshire on a permanent basis, returning to his homeland with the Swiss Super League side.
