Leeds United travel to London face Brentford on Sunday afternoon, looking to bring the momentum gained last week to the Gtech Community Stadium.
Following an exhilarating 3-1 win over Chelsea, and a well-earned point from reigning champions Liverpool, the Whites will be seeking to extend their positive festive run.
Speaking ahead of the 4:30pm kick-off, Daniel Farke gave his thoughts on coming up against Keith Andrews’ side.
“We have always high expectations against whoever we play,” the Boss said. “Wherever we go, we know as a promoted side, you’re always, in more or less every single game, the underdog.
“Each and every game is difficult. If it’s an away game or home game, also we wouldn’t label a home game, against perhaps one of the big names, more difficult than an away game against an established Premier League side. So, for that, we are always very respectful.
“We know that we have to be at our very best to give ourselves a chance to make something out of a game, a tight game, and then also have a chance to travel back with points.”
On Sunday’s opposition: “Brentford, we know, have a fantastic home record. They’ve beaten in the last home games more or less all the top sides, so don’t expect an easy game at all. I expect a very, very difficult challenge for us.
“I’ve followed his career for years, and this is what he has done throughout his career,” Farke then responded, commenting on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goalscoring form.
“He has delivered really good performances and scored many goals.
“It’s no coincidence that he’s there with more than 250 Premier League games and more than 60 goals. This is why we were so desperate to sign him because we know what he’s capable of.
“He’s a fantastic striker, a fantastic human being, a fantastic teammate and for me he’s also one of the best strikers in this league.”
