Dan O’Hearne has spoken with LUTV after seeing his side put on an excellent display at home to Barnsley Women, winning the match 5-0.
Four of the goals were scored by Laura Bartup, who received special praise from her manager, after also having a chat together before the game.
“Unbelievable, I couldn’t have asked for much more to be honest,” O’Hearne said on the match.
“I thought Barnsley made it hard for us in that first 20 minutes or so, but once we got in front and then got the second goal, I felt we were always in control.
“In the second half we then scored some great goals as well which was pleasing.
“I chatted with Laura before the game and told her she is putting pressure on herself to score goals.
“I tried to take that pressure away and it’s great for her that she has scored four.”
O’Hearne had asked after the first few matches for the team to take their chances, and they certainly did so on Thursday evening, the first of a double header of games this week.
“I am very pleased!” The Whites manager explained.
“We were scoring for fun in pre-season and then we have come into the league and in the first three games, not taken our chances.
“But, tonight, we’ve put them to bed and I am really pleased. This has to set the standard, we know what we’re capable of.
“In the first few games we have been a bit ‘iffy’ at times, but tonight was a complete performance and we need to take that into Sunday’s game.
“Liverpool Feds will be a really tough game, they have won every game and not conceded a goal, they are a very good footballing team and one we respect.
“But, we will go into it full of confidence and try to pick up another three points.”
