Laura Bartup was delighted when speaking to LUTV, after she put in a stunning performance against Barnsley at the Global Stadium.
The Whites had spoken about being more clinical and putting in a good display, and they certainly did that, overcoming their South Yorkshire opponents 5-0.
“I am absolutely buzzing,” Bartup said at full time.
“I have been a bit frustrated recently, that’s the fourth game of the season and I hadn’t scored in the first three.
“I know it is not all about scoring but as a striker that is obviously what you want to do. I’ve got a little bit frustrated, but I kept my head up, the girls told me I had goals in me.
“I spoke to Dan [O’Hearne] before the game about it and he told me that he believed in me, then I went out tonight and got four goals so I am really happy!
Now up and running for the campaign, Bartup said she wants to keep going, as the team look towards another big fixture on Sunday.
She said: “Let’s hope I get a few more now! I am off the mark now so hopefully I can keep going and get a few more goals.
“I look forward to every game but it is always good to play against your former club like tonight, and again on Sunday.
“Liverpool Feds are a really, really good side. They are a good passing team and we know how good they are so it will be a tough test for us.
“We’ve got a good squad and if we prepare well I think we can go out and get all three points on Sunday!”
