BERARDI AVAILABLE FOR CUP CLASH

Team news ahead of Bradford City trip…

United defender Gaetano Berardi will be available for selection now that he has served his three-match suspension for Wednesday’s Capital One Cup.

Berardi received a red card in the first round of the cup against Accrington Stanley in what was the defender’s first and only appearance for United.

Berardi's return to action is a timely one following Saturday’s match at Watford as United will be without Giuseppe Bellusci and Sam Byram as both players received red cards and will be suspended for the West Yorkshire derby with Bradford City.

United head coach David Hockaday says it will be highly unlikely that new signing Casper Sloth will be involved on Wednesday evening.

“Sloth came into the club on Monday and we had a look at him in regards to fitness,” said the head coach. “It is highly unlikely that he will be involved on Wednesday night but we will look at him on Friday to see if he is ready for Saturday’s game.

“The good thing for Casper and Mirco Antenucci is that after Saturday we have the international break where we can really get the group together.

“We’ll be able to work the whole group and timing wise that will be good for us.”

The head coach will also be without Souleymane Doukara, Steve Morison, Aidy White and Lewis Walters as they are all currently out injured.
