DERBY ARE BEATABLE - WARNOCK

Stephen Warnock on Derby away…

United captain Stephen Warnock says the squad can take confidence into the Derby County match on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) after defeating the promotion hopefuls on November 29.

United’s last win in the Sky Bet Championship came against The Rams at Elland Road when Mirco Antenucci netted a brace to cap off a superb team display.

Now Warnock says that United can take heart from that performance knowing that Derby are beatable.

“It gives you confidence that we know that they beatable,” said the skipper. “And we know what their weaknesses are.

“We tried to exploit them last time and we did that, the gameplan worked well.

“But it is a different game away from home. Our away form isn’t great but we can’t think about that going into it. We have got to be as positive as we can and get a result from it.”

Warnock insists Derby won’t be seeking revenge for the 2-0 defeat at Elland Road, but they will be chasing the three points to bolster their promotion push.

“They’ll be wanting to win the game to get into the top two to get automatic promotion” explained Stephen. “They won’t be looking at us thinking about revenge they will be thinking about climbing the league.

“As long as we are solid, it will be a different type of set-up, a different type of way of playing away from home that we have looked at.

“But we’ll be confident, don’t worry about that.”
