England's young lions win Under-17 tournament…

England’s Under-17s tasted European glory on Wednesday evening when they won the UEFA Under-17 European Championships in Malta.

The final with Holland’s Under-17s went to the last kick as a 1-1 draw after 80 minutes led to the tournament finishing with a penalty shootout, which England won 4-1.

United youngster Lewis Cook played a major part in the final but missed the dramatic spot kicks as he was replaced in the 74th minute after a battling display.

The Championship win is the second time John Peacock has led England’s Under-17s to European success in the last four years.
