Five moments to remember at Derby...
1. It was a thriller on the opening day of the season back in August 1996. Leeds took a 2-0 lead through an own goal from Jacob Laursen and a thunderbolt from Ian Harte. The home side hit back through Dean Sturridge and Paul Simpson, before Lee Bowyer restored the advantage for the visitors. Sturridge then had the final say and earned a point for the hosts.

2. It was another memorable encounter in January 1996’s FA Cup third round tie. Derby, who were down to 10 men following the dismissal of Gary Rowett, took a 2-0 lead through Marco Gabbiadini and Paul Simpson, but Leeds hit back to win 4-2 with strikes from Gary Speed, Brian Deane, Gary McAllister and Tony Yeboah.

3. Ian Harte was on the mark yet again in September 2000 with a wonderful free-kick from distance, but Georgi Kinkladze, who would later have a trial at Leeds, weaved his magic to earn a share of the spoils for the Rams.

4. You have to go back to April 20, 2002, for the last time Leeds were successful at Derby. With the pressure off for both sides (Derby had already been relegated and Leeds were out of the running for the Champions League), a dour encounter took place but Leeds won the game thanks to a chipped finish from Lee Bowyer.

5. Robert Bayly won’t have the happiest of memories of facing Derby County. With Derby assured of a play-off place and Leeds facing up to life in League One, then manager Dennis Wise put out an experimental side and Bayly saw red in the second half as Leeds exited the Championship with a 2-0 defeat.
