The Grass Roots scheme will see us connecting with local football clubs, schools and youth organisations throughout Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, encouraging their juniors to be part of matchdays here at Elland Road.
Being part of our Grass Roots initiative gives juniors the opportunity to take advantage of reduced price tickets, with junior tickets from as little as £5, whilst earning cash back for their club or organisation.
In addition, they will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of matchday activities that include the guard of hour, shake the shirt, player escorts and half time parade.
At the Queen’s Park Rangers fixture Amaranth JFC, Beckwithshaw Saints, Hunslet Club, Scotton Scorchers, Chappletown JFC and Wetherby Athletic were chosen to take part in these highly sought after experiences.
James Black, Coach at Beckwithshaw Saints, said: ‘It was a fantastic day for the players and coaches alike. The reception we got from the fans was phenomenal and it made the day extra special. The kids will never forget this experience’.
