West Brom: Match officials announced

Appointments made for Saturday’s fixture.

Sam Allison referee

The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday have been announced, with Sam Allison set to take charge at The Hawthorns.

A midfielder during his playing career, Allison enjoyed spells with Swindon Town, Bristol City and AFC Bournemouth amongst others, before hanging up his boots and turning his attention to officiating.

The 43-year-old spent a number of seasons plying his trade on the National League and Premier League 2 circuit, before graduating to EFL duties and ultimately being promoted to the Sky Bet Championship last campaign.

The Chippenham-born official would go on to referee 17 times in the second tier across the season, as well as making three appearances in the Premier League, starting with last year’s Boxing Day clash between Sheffield United and Luton Town at Bramall Lane.

The Whites have a fine record when Allison has been in the middle, winning all three matches beginning with November's 3-1 home victory over Swansea City at Elland Road.

The referee then oversaw the Whites' emphatic FA Cup success over Peterborough, before March's 2-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

Allison has only been in the middle of one West Brom fixture, with the Baggies losing out to Southampton last campaign.
